Sunshines:
The Sunshine Class is a play-based program that focuses on developing foundational reading skills through the exploration of the alphabet and fine motor development. We aim to equip children with pre-writing skills as foundations for future reading and writing expectations. In addition, we help children gain independence by focusing on self-help skills such as taking care of their belongings, putting on their coats, and using the bathroom independently. We also emphasize social skills and teach children to respect and get along with their peers. Basic math skills like one-to-one correspondence, sorting, and patterns are also introduced at this level. In Sunshine classes, children do not sit with a pencil and paper all day; instead, they learn through play, books, and art. The maximum number of children in a class is ten, with one teacher per class. Additionally, we offer a 5-day all-day class (9:15 AM - 3:30 PM) for families with significant childcare needs. This program allows children to remain in a tight-knit class with their peers for most of the day, reducing the need for transitions.
- Our youngest age level of classes is offered for children of 3 going on 4 years of age.
- Children must be age 3 by August. 1st.
- This class is offered two days a week (Tuesday and Thursday), or three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) in the morning only. There is limited availability for three-year-olds who are not yet potty trained.

They will also engage in more specific instructions and be asked to follow a string of age-appropriate commands. Their writing skills will increase daily as they write their names and other words incorporated in their topic lesson. Lots of encouragement is given to keep them excited and motivated to learn and engage in activities. All Moonbeam classes have a maximum ratio of twelve children to one teacher.
